CGM Song Pantheon Mix Tapes
Yes, I am dating myself by calling these mix tapes. I lived for 9 days of the ‘70s. Heady times.
These are collections of my favorite songs, songs that make me cry, songs that I dance to in my chair before writing sessions, songs that connect me to the universe. I believe that song order on albums matters, so I have been intentional about that. Note that I never listen to these songs individually, and I have never and may never listen to these mixes. If any of these songs ever come on the radio (most never do), I change the channel. I listen to these songs exclusively within the context of the entire albums that they are from (more on that below). But I understand that others listen to music differently, and I think these are powerful collections. I will build these lists for you by revealing one song a week every week starting Dec 2024. There will be three tapes in all. Clink on the links to enjoy (or not).
Tape 1
#3 - Dear Friend (Jonathan Wilson)
#4 - Apocalypse Dreams (Tame Impala)
#5 - Yes I’m Changing (Tame Impala)
#6 - If One Of Us Should Fall (The Slip)
#7 - Give Me All Your Love (Alabama Shakes)
CGM Album Pantheon:
See here for a list of the albums that fuel my spirit and my stories. I listen to them exclusively in full, in the pre-dawn before writing sessions, with my eyes closed most of the time, on a good set of headphones, and on weed. Through these albums, I confront my fears and insecurities, and I craft hope, love, and stories.
CGM Radiohead B-side Mix
I am a very big Radiohead fan. They have many singles and b-sides that are not on their main albums. I’ve made a mix tape of my favorites. Again, I was intentional with song order, but listen however you like, of course. Here you go.
