It felt like a dream to the man. It was knowing something deep down inside but not knowing what it meant, not being able to see it or touch it or catch up to it. Every time he tried to grasp for it with his mind, it slithered away and left behind the foul stench of fear and doubt.
Somewhere in the infinite darkness of the man's deep brown eyes, the younger man perceived a tiny light. He touched it with a thought, and a light appeared within his own mind, and the two men's eyes were mirrors bouncing that light back and forth forever.
"I could sense that you were close," the older man said. "In my dreams, I think. But also at random times on random days. Something would move in my mind. I would stop what I was doing and lift my head. It's like intuition that leaves as soon as it is there. But something lingers, a feeling. It is this feeling that is left for you to explore. It is a vision that is sensed but not seen. You must learn to capture what you can of these moments."
